Formosa shut its No. 2 naphtha cracker at Mai Liao on Mar 1, with an ethylene nameplate capacity of 900,000 mta. The turnaround will continue for 45 day, until Apr 14. This plant turnaround at Formosa Petrochemical Co's upstream cracker has led to almost 60% cut in its PE output. Formosa will run its polyethylene production at 40% rates starting Mar 1, due to lower ethylene supply caused by the shutdown of one of its upstream naphtha crackers.
