Uhde awarded contract to build PVC plant in Ukraine

21-Dec-06
Uhde has been awarded by Lukoil Chemical Group, a follow-up contract for a new polyvinyl chloride plant (PVC) in the Ukraine. The plant for the production of S-PVC will be based on the modern polymerisation process using the High-Performance Reactor of Vinnolit, Uhde's engineering partner and the leading PVC manufacturer in Germany. The plant, with a capacity of 300,000 tpa of suspension PVC (S-PVC), will be constructed by Karpatnaftochim, an Ukrainian subsidiary of LUKOIL, in Kalush, 500 kms south-west of Kiev. In April 2006 Uhde was already awarded a contract by LUKOIL for an electrolysis plant at the same location. Uhde's scope of services will include the basic and detail engineering, supply of the equipment, supervision of construction and commissioning and training of customer's personnel. The new plant is scheduled to go on stream in early 2009.
