Xpro India Ltd., with a current production capacity of 17,059 tons of diverse packaging and allied products, plans to ramp up its packaging film capacity through a major greenfield project in West Bengal. The plans are at a preliminary stage and various locations are being considered for the proposed project.
Xpro, which currently produces in units located across the country, is believed to be planning to invest Rs 400 crore at Haldia, close to its main feedstock polymer, which could be sourced from Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd.
The company, which clocked a turnover of Rs 122.11 crore, produces a range of packaging and insulating products like biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) films, metallised and capacitor films, coextruded plastic films, thermoformed components, refrigerator liners coextruded plastic sheets at diverse locations like Berjora in West Bengal, Noida, Faridabad and Pune, respectively. The company also produces thermosetting resin at Ranjangaon in Pune.
