PET is the preferred material for bottles for water, soft drinks and beverages. PET is good for sliding applications. PET has high mechanical resistance, very good creep resistance, a low coefficient of friction and good dimensional stability. Moisture absorption and creep are less than POM. Its wear resistance is better than POM, but worse than cast PA. PET is also used widely in fibers
