Sinopec Corp has planned a 45 day maintenance shutdown, largest maintenance in three years, at its110,000 bpd refinery. The current 110,000 bpd refinery has two crude units, of 50,000 bpd and 60,000 bpd. The 60,000 bpd unit is likely to be mothballed when the new plants currently under construction, come onstream. Construction is under way to add a new 200,000 bpd refinery and a complex with capacity to produce 1 mln tpa of ethylene at the same site. Construction is scheduled for completion in late 2009.
