K-Dow Petrochemicals, a US$11 bln JV between Dow Chemical and Kuwait Petroleum Corp's subsidiary, Petrochemical Industries Co. is strongly considering to set up its headquarters at Ann Arbor in southeast Michigan. The firm had announced in July its plan to set up HQ in Michigan over Louisiana and Texas, within I-96 and I-94 corridor and close to the Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
As per a company executive of Dow Chemical, the firm was scouting southeast Michigan-based sites including Oakland, Wayne and Washtenaw counties other than Ann Arbor. However, K-Dow will receive the tax incentives once the site for HQ is short listed. K-Dow is expected to zero in on the site by December.
