Amcor to build US$80mln custom PET plant in US

The world's leading manufacturer of plastic bottles, Amcor Ltd announced that it was constructing a US$80 mln custom PET (polyethylene terephthalate) blow-molding plant in Wytheville, Virginia, adjacent to the recently-constructed PepsiCo facility. The plant will be dedicated to the production of PepsiCo Inc (PEP) heat set containers, especially for its' Gatorade product. Production at the new plant will commence from March 2007, with the initial capacity of over one billion units pa.
