Bayer MaterialScience has announced a price hike by EUR 0.20/kg for its "Apec" and "Makrolon" polycarbonate products, "Bayblend" and "Makroblend" blends containing polycarbonate. The hike implemented on 1 September 2006 applies to all deliveries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America. The increase can be largely attributed to continued increases in energy costs for manufacturing polycarbonate products" as well as "high expenditure" for logistics and transportation.
