Dahej, located in the Bharuch district, is the only place from Gujarat to be shortlisted by the Central Government as a Petroleum, Chemicals and petrochemicals region (PCPIR). The other places shortlisted for PCPIR are Mangalore, Visakh-Kakinda and Haldia.
The move would entail setting up of mega industrial estates involving huge investments in the region.
