China imposed special duties of 144% on imports of phenol, including those from some Korean suppliers, which did not include LG Petrochemical. Now, China has embarked upon an anti-dumping investigation of phenol imported from South Korea's LG Petrochemical Co Ltd. Expected to be completed in nine months.
While the investigation is ongoing, importers must pay a deposit on any phenol imported from LG Petrochemical. The deposit is similar to the anti-dumping duty already imposed on other South Korean suppliers.
