The construction of the Fujian integrated ethylene and refining complex, a joint venture between Sinopec Corp, ExxonMobil and Saudi Aramco, has commenced at the Fujian Petrochemical Co's site.
The existing Fujian Petrochemical Co's refinery capacity will increase from 4-mil mtpa to 12-mil mtpa (240,000 b/d) with the addition of new petrochemical facilities. The project will include :
A 800,000 tpa ethylene steam cracker
A 650,000 tpa polyethylene unit
A 400,000 tpa polypropylene unit
A 1-mil tpa aromatics unit.
