Thailand's IRPC has raised utilization rates at its sole 360,000 tpa naphtha cracker to 90% of its capacity on improved petrochemical margins, as per Reuters. IRPC had maintained run rates within 75 to 80% of its capacity for most of June. Concerns abound that the petrochem maker could see squeezed petrochemical margins again as Brent crude prices have surged above US$100 after about two weeks. Higher oil prices have propped up feedstock naphtha prices to a month-high on Tuesday at US$794/ton.
