Damage to Formosa again due to fire at Embattled Mailiao complex

Fire early Saturday morning damaged part of a refinery operated by Formosa Petrochemical Corp. at the Mailiao petrochemical. Formosa Petrochemical is reported to have closed down part of the refinery affected by the fire, but had not yet calculated the amount of damage. Whether the company has stopped production at the refinery is unclear. Analysts expect production at the Mailiao complex to return to usual in August, provided the government is pleased with the safety measures put in place.
