A fire has struck the third refinery of the group's petrochemical subsidiary Formosa Petrochemical Corp. (FPC) at midnight last Friday. State-run oil refiner CPC Corp. Taiwan will help Formosa Plastics Group (FPG) improve safety at its petrochemical complex in Mailiao, Yunlin County, as per CNA. FPG Chairman Wang has asked CPC assistance to improve and upgrade the group's Mailiao petrochemical complex, after the seventh fire broke out at FPG's Mailiao petrochemical complex over the past year. CPC will assemble a team of experts in chemical engineering, factory safety and other relevant fields to visit the Mailiao factory compound next week.
