Falling butadiene and ACN prices, subdued demand, dunk ABS prices in Asia

13-Nov-08
Butadiene and ACN prices have dropped in Asia again, pulling down ABS prices severely. Lackluster demand from China has also acted on buying sentiments and has also triggered the fall in input costs. CFR CMP offers fro ABS were revised by about $60 to US$1400-1440/MT, even as CFR China deals were concluded below US$1350/MT. Taiwan's FCFC lowered November offers to US$1400/MT, while Chimei reduced offers to US$1435/MT, and LG Chem's notional offers were heard at US$1400/MT. Even at these low levels, buyers prefer to abstain from buying as they wait in the sidelines.
