Formosa Plastics to invest $90 mln in specialty PVC plant

Formosa Plastics Corp. plans to invest US$90 mln in a specialty polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant at the Point Comfort location. Site work is under way for the construction of the new plant that will produce a finer granular product than the first PVC plants. This will be the second PVC plant on the Point Comfort site and is expected to be completed in 2008. Formosa's first facility at this site included vinyl chloride monomer and PVC plants between 1980-83.
