Gail (India) Ltd. Plans to set up JV projects worth over Rs 15,000 crore in Orissa, including a coal gassification plant, pipeline project, petrochemical complex and a power plant.
GAIL proposes to set up a petrochemical complex in Orissa at an estimated investment of Rs 6,000 crore and is open to have foreign company participation.
GAIL and the state government will soon finalise a comprehensive Energy Cooperation Agreement, in January to pave the way for Gail's major investments in the state. Both the GAIL and the state government would soon set up task forces to examine and prepare feasibility report on each of the projects.
