GAIL (India) Ltd's performance during Q2 has been spectacular on higher earnings from gas transmission, LPG and liquid hydrocarbons, and natural gas trading. GAIL has reported a 79% rise in net profit for Q2 at Rs 1,023 crore, and a 35% increase in turnover to Rs 6,129 crore. Results have been healthy despite sharing higher LPG subsidy (provisional) of Rs 141 crore during the quarter.
During Q2, revenues from natural gas transmission business grew 9%, by 55% from LPG and liquid hydrocarbons business to Rs 1,090 crore, and by 40% from natural gas trading to Rs 4,495 crore. Revenues from petrochemicals business decreased by 2% to Rs 629 crore.
