Ho Hup Construction Co Bhd and KNM Group Bhd, through their 50:50 joint-venture (JV) company, have secured a RM 57.77mln sub-contract for construction work at Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s (Petronas) Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (Rapid) project in Pengerang, Johor. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Ho Hup said the JV company, KHH Infrastructures Sdn Bhd (KHHI), accepted the job from Sinopec Engineering Group Malaysia Bhd, the main contractor of Petronas’ subsidiary PRPC Refinery and Cracker Sdn Bhd.
KHHI’s scope of work includes general building works for electrical substation and field auxiliary room, foundations, superstructures, internal roads, paving, underground piping, trenches, manholes, pits, basins and related works. Work on the contract is expected to start on March 30 and will be completed in 24 months. This is the second contract awarded to Ho Hup by Sinopec Engineering Group in the Rapid project. In September last year, it was given a RM21.6mil sub-contract to perform soil improvement work, also under Package 2 of the Rapid project
