South Korea's Honam Petrochemical Corp and Japan's Mitsubishi Rayon Co. have inked a 50:50 MOU to set up a petrochemical joint venture at an investment outlay of up to about US$258 million.
The projects will encompass building of a 90,000 tpa methyl methacrylate (MMA) and a 40,000 tpya poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) plants in South Korea. The MMA plant is expected to be located in Daesan and the PMMA plant in either Daesan or Yosu. The plants would start operating from 2008.
