Huntsman acquires majority stake in Saudi PU JV

Furthering its plan to bring new investment to emerging markets, Huntsman Corporation and Basic Chemical Industries Limited (BCI) have signed an agreement to transfer majority ownership in their existing Arabian Polyol Company (APC) joint venture from BCI to Huntsman. The joint venture based in Saudi Arabia manufactures and sells MDI-based polyurethane systems in the Gulf countries. Financial details were not disclosed for the JV, that will now be re-named Huntsman APC. Huntsman APC will be based at the existing Dammam site on Saudi Arabia's east coast, supported by a Huntsman sales office in Dubai.
