Ineos plans to expand at Texas

With the construction of its fourth reactor project, INEOS plans to expand its Green Lake, Texas plant by 15%. This will be INEOS’s first expansion project in a decade at this site, and will make the plant the largest acrylonitrile plant in the world with 544,000 tpa total capacity. The reactor will be built on property already owned by INEOS and will be adjacent to existing acrylonitrile facilities on TX 185Construction is expected to begin in September 2007 and to be completed by Q3-2008. INEOS awaits approval on permit application from Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The final approval is expected in June. The project cost is estimated between US$80-100 million.
