The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) has launched a formal investigation into a unplanned flaring at a chemical plant, as per BBC News. ExxonMobil has blamed the flaring on a fault in a section of cable. SEPA had received an "unprecedented" 600 complaints from members of the public reporting a chemical smell and rumbling noise.
