Jacobs wins EPCM contract for chlorine plant from Sadra Chemical

US based Jacobs Engineering Group has won EPCM contract from Sadara Chemical Co., a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Dow. Jacobs will provide engineering, procurement, construction, and management services for Sadra’s US$20 bln chlorine plant located on the petrochemical complex in Jubail Industrial City, as per US-Saudi Arabian Business Council. Earlier this year, Jacobs carried out the front-end engineering and design for the project. The petrochemical complex will begin production in the Q2-2015. The project will be one of the largest integrated petrochemicals plants in the world and will manufacture 1.3 mln metric tpa of ethylene and 400,000 tpa of propylene when completed.
