After successful completion in Q4-2010 of Phase-1 of its new PVC complex in Port Said, Egypt, TCI Sanmar Chemical has kicked off the next phase, as per Plasteurope. The group plans to set up a captive ethylene plant to feed the PVC line by mid-2013. In addition, parent company Sanmar Group reports addition of another 200,000 tpa PVC line at the site. Reports indicate that the 200,000 tpa caustic soda and 400,000 tpa VCM lines began production in Q2-2011. However, the lines are conducting trial runs.
