Japan’s naphtha imports rise by 25% in March

Government data reveals that Japan's naphtha imports for the petrochemical sector in March have risen by 25% as compare to February figures. As per the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, imports of naphtha for ethylene production amounted to 1,372,170 kilolitres (943,241 tons) in March as compared with 1,093,316 kl (752,976 tons) in February. Average naphtha import cost in March rose to US$428/MT (28,354 yen/kl) from US$382.8/MT (23,733 yen/kl) in February.
