A close to hundred dollar dip has ensued this week in the price of ethylene in Asia as markets remained downcast on quiet demand from PE producers. An August shipment deal was heard concluded at US$1490/MT CFR Taiwan. General selling price was targeted at lows of US$1550/MT CFR Asia, but was met with unresponsive buying sentiments keeping bids in the US$1400 range. CFR Asia ethylene prices for August delivery were gauged at less than US$1500/MT.
