Machino Polymers plans to expand its Polypropylene compounding facility by 10,000 tpa from the current 40,000 tons with the setting up of two new units at Chennai and Pune. Machino expects to get its plant in Chennai operational by December 2009, while the Pune unit would be ready by Q2-10. The company is investing over Rs 50 crore at these two locations.
The company has inked an agreement with Borouge to use its proprietary technology to manufacture high performance polypropylene compounds in accordance with Machino's compounding technology. The alliance will facilitate the introduction of innovative automotive applications into the Indian market as well as new technology and cost-saving solutions originally developed by Borouge for European market.
