No immediate reports of casualties or damage have been reported in the wake of the earthquake that rattled Taiwan on Tuesday, measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale. The epicentre of the quake was reported at about 63 km east of Hualien on the east coast, at a depth of about 12 km.
No reports of damage or any impact have been come in, however the true picture will emerge when a full review is conducted. Operations were normal at Taiwan's two refiners, Chinese Petroleum Corp and Formosa Petrochemical Corp.
