Dow Hyperlast has unveiled VERDISEAL, a verdant roof membrane waterproofing system that balances economic high performance with flexibility in installation and use to overcome problems with roof garden water leakage, root damage and others. Being a monolithic, seamless system, it can be applied onto complex shapes keeping them sealed. Its 2mm/80 mils thick seamless membrane adheres evenly to flat and horizontal surfaces and combinations of levels and undulations, protecting against water leakage, mineral residue leaching, garden chemicals and oil spillages, and resisting root penetration. In case any damage occur, localised repairs can be made without removing the whole membrane, minimising any replacement and disposal costs.
Supplied in liquid form, VERDISEAL waterproofing system cannot be punctured prior to use, unlike sheet membrane, and is applied by spray or hand without hot bitumen or the need for reinforcing sheets or flashings. There are no fumes, no naked flames and no solvents that could disturb existing current building tenants, and the wear coat is comprised predominantly of a renewable based polyol. VERDISEAL can be applied in temperatures of 5°C /41°F and above and is ready for use within hours of application even at low temperatures (0oC/32oF and rising), and is tough enough to withstand full construction traffic without any need for protection board. VERDISEAL draws on Dow Hyperlast 30 year's of experience to offer a three-part waterproofing system, comprising primer, elastomeric membrane and robust wear coat, which combines fast application with long life and high performance.
