Nippon to invest 60 bln yen in petrochemical refinery in Japan

Nippon Oil Corp, Japan's largest oil refiner is planning to upgrade its production capacity for propylene and xylem. The company has planned to invest about 60 bln yen to build a petrochemical refinery in Miyagi prefecture in northeast Japan that will commence production in March 2008. This new facility, likely to be built on a site at its Sendai plant, may also have the capacity to generate electricity.
