A power supply interruption on April 16, has forced Nova Chemicals Corp., Canada's largest chemical maker, to halt production of ethylene and polyethylene at three plants in Ontario. The shutdowns will affect Nova;s financial performance resulting in a reduction in Q2 earnings by US$20 million to $25 million after tax. The plants will resume production at reduced rates during the next week and will be at full output during the next month.
