Tecnimont, the engineering subsidiary of Edison has signed an agreemant to build a polypropylene plant in Russia's Omsk region. Tecnimont is to build the plant, a joint project expected to take 18-20 months and is estimated to have a capacity to produce 180,000 tpa of PP. Tecnimont has so far built 30 plants in Russia and has agreed with regional authorities to study and build other petrochemical and refining plants in the Omsk region.
