Wednesday's US$1.64 decline settled oil prices at US$50.22 - the lowest closing price since Feb.18. Crude oil prices ebbed on Wednesday to a seven week low after a U.S. government report indicated an increase in the country's crude oil and gasoline stocks. But Thursday saw crude prices rising. Light, sweet crude for May delivery rose to US$50.45 per barrel, and remain about 35% higher than a year ago. In London, Brent crude rose 47 cents to $50.95 on the International Petroleum Exchange.
