Essel Propack buys Telcon Packaging- its second acquisition in UK

Essel Propack has acquired UK laminated tube maker Telcon Packaging- its second acquisition in UK for an undisclosed sum. With this, Essel has consolidate itself in the UK market, possibly leading to in further consolidation of laminated tubes manufacturing in Europe. The company’s first acquisition was in August last year, when it bought UK extruded tubes maker Arista Tubes. This acquisition is in line with Essel’s strategic intent for Europe and Americas. We expect this step to result Telcon is based in Swanley, Kent, and has capacity to produce 200 million tubes a year in either standard laminate or foil-free laminate, using AISA machinery. Essel Propack is the world’s largest manufacturer of laminated tubes and now has the two most widely used technologies for making laminated tubes, which are typically used to package toothpaste.
