The foundation stone for the stage-two of NTPC's Rajiv Gandhi Combined Cycle Power Project in Kerala has been laid by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The proposed global scale plant, when on stream, will produce 6,00,000 tpa of ethylene and 1,50,000 tpa of propylene.
Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) is also examining the possibility of setting up a Rs 7000 crore gas-cracker complex in Kerala jointly with the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC).
