State owned Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) has completely restored gas supplies from its flood-hit Hazira complex in Gujarat.
ONGC resumed gas supply of 6 mmscmd two days ahead of schedule on August 19 and boosted supplies to 18 mmscmd on August 26, 28 mmscmd on September 2 and 33 mmscmd on September 7. ONGC raised daily supply to 40 million standard cubic meters per day on September 8, 20 days ahead of the initial schedule of September end, with the start of its seventh Gas Sweetening Unit (GSU).
The Hazira plant supplies gas to over 18 downstream industries through HVJ pipeline of GAIL. The shutdown of the plant cost ONGC Rs 21 crore in revenues and Rs 16-17 crore in profits per day.
