Polyethylene film extrusion now accounts for around 20% of European polymer consumption, and Russia is participating strongly in this growth, according to Applied Market Information. At the beginning of the 1990s, Russia’s plastics film industry had almost collapsed and remained extremely weak. However, since 2000, output has risen by an average of 14% pa, mainly due to PE stretch film and multi-layer film.
