Nigerian oil workers have called off a three-day strike they had planned to protest against the government's sale of the state Eleme Petrochemicals Company to an Indonesian company as well as to protest against the growing number of abductions by Niger Delta militants of oil industry workers.
The two unions , National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN) have unconditionally called off their three-day warning strike and agreed to give the government a chance to tackle the issues in contention.
