Severe increases in the raw material and energy costs in recent months, has led to announcement of a price hike by BASF. With effect from 1 September, BASF has announced a price hike for its biodegradable plastic Ecoflex, across Europe. These are combinations of renewable raw materials such as starch, cellulose or polylactic acid with a biodegradable, synthetic polymer like Ecoflex.
