PTT Plc has acquired a stake in HMC Polymers Co, a petrochemical unit of Bangkok Bank. PTT's board has approved payment of 9.09 billion baht for 12.9 million new shares and 2.8 million existing shares of HMC Polymers Co. The investment will give PTT a 41.44% shareholding in the company. The other major shareholders will be Bangkok Bank (30%) and Basell (Thailand) Holding BV (28.557%).
