Qatofin plans to start up its 450,000 tpa LLDPE plant at Mesaieed in the fourth quarter of this year. The plant will be located on the Qapco site and along with LLDPE, have the capacity to process 422,000 tpa of ethylene and 38,000 tpa of butene-1. 40,000 tpa of ethylene produced will be supply to Q-Chem II.
Qatofin is a joint venture between Qapco (63%), Total Petrochemicals (36%) and QP (1%).
