Several Styrene Monomer (SM) plants are to be shutdown on account of planned maintenance in Asia in 2007. Planned maintenance turnarounds of SM plants might exert influence on supply of spot cargoes to the marketplace. Schedules will be tight between March and May, and between August and October this year when a number of SM plants will be overhauled in S. Korea and Taiwan, including the facilities of S. Korea's LG Chemical Ltd., Lotte-Daesan Petrochemical Corporation, Samsung Total Petrochemicals Company Ltd., SK Corporation, Dongbu Hannong Chemical Co., Ltd., Japan's Asahi Kasei Corporation, Nihon Oxirane Co., Ltd. (NOC) and Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC).
