Swiss plastics maker EMP expects to corner 30% of Malaysian PC market

Swiss plastics maker Estrusione Materiali Plastici SA (EMP) expects to secure 30% of the Malaysian polycarbonate market within three years. Currently the company is popular for the quality of its Macrolux brand in markets of Europe, South Korea and Japan. EMP sales last year totaled to US$50 million, and 7% of it was from South Korea and Japan. EMP forecastes the Asia-Pacific market to contribute 10% to sales this year, estimated to go up to 25% in three years. EMP's current production capacity is at 13,000 tpa and it currently exports to 37 countries. It has offices in Hong Kong, Germany, Italy, France, the UK and the US.
