Thailand's PTT to up benzene, paraxylene capacity at its new complex to 100% by 2009

Thai petrochem company, PTT Aromatics and Refining (PTTAR) plans to up the capacity of benzene and paraxylene to 100% at its No.2 petrochemical complex by 2009. The Map Ta Phut-based petrochemical complex-which initiated on-spec production from September end, is running at 60-70% capacity. The total production capacity at this complex is 363,000 mtpa of benzene and 610,000 mtpa of paraxylene through a toluene disproportionation unit.
