Titan Chemicals Corporation Bhd plans to construct butadiene and propylene plants at an investment of RM380 million in Pasir Gudang, Johor. The scheduled date for completion is end of 2007. The two plants are expected to start contributing to revenue in 2008 and are estimated to generate annual revenue of RM1 billion.
The first plant, with a capacity of 100,000 tpa, is to be built at a cost of RM171 million, and will focus on extracting butadiene, a byproduct from Titan's two existing naptha crackers. The second plant, costing RM209 million, would use olefins conversion technology to produce propylene.
