Water stable replacement for mercury catalysts for use in MDI elastomer applications

26-Dec-08
Leading worldwide supplier of catalysts, Johnson Matthey Catalysts has unveiled the new Snapcure2000 series titanium-based catalysts as replacement for mercury catalysts which are designed to exhibit similar or exceeding physical properties as seen with mercury catalysts while being hydrolytically stable. These catalysts can be fully pre-mixed with the polyol without any loss of activity and also is shows complete compatibility with a variety of fillers and chain extenders. The new series of catalysts target the elastomers market to be used in place of mercury catalysts in MDI elastomer applications while also proving to be useful in polyester, PTMEG and most polyether polyols ( with more than 80% primary alcohol).
