Wellman Inc's Pearl River plant in Mississippi is expected to resume PET (polyethylene terephthalate) production in November. However, the plant is to operate at less then full capacity until transportation and other support is available. The plant was shut ahead of Hurricane Katrina and did not have any major structural damage but water on the site required repairs for pumps and other electrical gear.
