On Friday, Westlake Chemical Corp. announced that it will invest US$250-300 mln for the construction of the a new chlor alkali plant in Louisiana slated to have a production capacity of 250,000 electro chemicals units/year totaling the firm's capacity to 525,000 electro chemicals units/year. The new chlor alkali facility will be housed in its vinyl manufacturing complex in Geismar and is expected to come underway by H1 of 2011.
