Braskem is to restart a naphtha cracker that has been shuttered since December on account of deteriorating demand. Dipping global and domestic ethylene demand coerced the company to shut down in December 2008, 2 naphtha crackers, including the 720,000 tpa Cracker 1 at Triunfo Complex in Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil.
